Julia found yoga in 2013. It wasn’t long after attending weekly yoga classes that she began to experience the trans-formative effects (both physical and emotional) of this practice. Yoga continues to be a source of healing, relaxation, self-reflection, and growth. Much gratitude to her first yoga teachers – Krista Masters and Tina Clay – who helped Julia find the contemplative nature within the physical practice.
In order to gain more knowledge of yoga philosophy and grow in her personal practice, Julia attended yoga teacher training at Ebb & Flow in the Fall of 2016 where she received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification. She has enjoyed teaching yoga in a variety of settings (both studios and gyms) since that time. Julia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Holistic Healing from San Francisco State and a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in School Psychology from Sacramento State.
When not practicing or teaching yoga, her time is filled with family (to include raising a couple of little humans) and friends, working as a school psychologist, listening to podcasts and reading all kinds of books (she loves to learn). Julia is AFAA certified, CPR certified and is also certified to teach Barre and Zumba.
In her yoga classes, Julia hopes to provide a safe place for individuals to journey through self-exploration in their body, mind and spirit. Although a teacher, she is forever a student of this practice.
