Tisha is a Yoga Instructor who chose to go deeper after her 200Hr Holistic Yoga Flow teacher training in taking an additional 95Hr Holy Yoga teacher training program followed by a week long Retreat/Immersion. She is certified in Holy Yoga Touch and will commence Trauma Sensitive training in the New Year. When Tisha heard of Holy Yoga in 2016, she was elated to become fully aware that this was the “thing” she was being groomed for all along. Tisha pursued and practiced yoga since 2010 at “The Yoga Room” in Redlands California and after praying about it became a Yoga Instructor in October of 2016. The10-month, Holistic Yoga Flow teacher training/instructor program with Daniel Head and Travis Elliot at The Yoga Room was just only the beginning. Tisha knew God had a plan much bigger than the yoga itself and firmly believes that to go in one way and leave changed is key. Tisha is a child of God, wife, mother of twins, Registered Respiratory Therapist since 2004, and retired military veteran. She sees her life as a never ending process of learning who she is, by seeking to know and understand who Jesus is. Through some of the darkest times in her life, God offered protection and comfort. Tisha grew up around extreme dysfunction, abandonment, physical, emotional and sexual abuse and learning to be a people pleaser in order to feel loved and never forgotten. Challenges like these have brought her to a place of ultimate dependence on the Lord’s redeeming grace and unconditional love for her. Yoga quickly became another part of her journey towards healing. Her heart is to create an environment where people can come “just as they are,” feel accepted and know that God’s mercies for them are new everyday. Tisha’s passions include dating her husband, leading 8-week marriage enrichment courses, making memories with her adult children, working in the Neonatal ICU, singing, mentoring, & wholehearted living. She has a heart felt desire to develop a sustainable community and practice love in action. She is honored to use her gifts and life lessons to serve as a Holy Yoga Instructor. Her life verse continues to strengthen and encourage her: “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.
It is her sincere hope that weaving God’s word throughout her classes will allow students to grab hold of the truths spoken over them so that they too can stand confidently when life’s waves crash over them. The word Yoga literally means “to yoke.” “Holy Yoga” means to yoke or tether oneself to that which is pure, lovely, and set apart, using every avenue to experience God.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30
